Landowners and Land Users Relations Advisory Board
About
The Landowners and Land Users Relations Advisory Board (LLURAB) advises the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW) on landowner-related laws, policies, programs, and issues affecting landowners and outdoor recreationists. The board helps review and recommend improvements to landowner relations efforts, supports conflict resolution related to public access, and works to promote greater understanding and cooperation between those who own land and those who use Maine's private and public lands for recreation.
The Landowners and Land Users Relations Advisory Board is made up of 13 members appointed by the Commissioner of MDIFW. The board includes representatives from both landowner and land user perspectives, helping ensure that discussions about public access, private land, and outdoor recreation reflect a range of interests across Maine. The board meets three times each year, with additional meetings held as needed. At least once each year, the board and the Department also convene stakeholders to discuss landowner and outdoor recreation issues and provide recommendations to improve the landowner relations program.
