MaineCare in Education: Updated Joint Individual Education Program (IEP) Guidance for School Health-Related Services

As a reminder, all providers who deliver services following the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) must ensure all MaineCare-covered services are documented following the Department of Health and Human Services/Maine Department of Education Joint IEP Guidance document.

The Maine Department of Education has released updated Joint IEP Guidance to help schools follow federal and state requirements. The updated guidance was developed through a collaborative effort and is available on the MaineCare in Education web page.

All IEP documents must reflect the updated guidance as soon as possible, but no later than thirty (30) days of the issuance of the guidance. Providers with current prior authorizations for School Health-Related Services through Acentra should upload any updated documentation to Atrezzo.
